Furrows … yes this is nice bit of word play here. There are some serious ridges at play. Tyrrells have taken the humble potato and carved it into deep, craggy trenches that feel somewhere between “rustic harvest” and “construction project.”

The crunch is satisfying, but to me they feel just a little thin and a step a way from that real deep crackle of a great ridged crisp.

Flavor-wise, it’s straightforward: just sea salt. Nothing fancy, and probably not quite enough salt for my taste. The ridges do a nice job of catching that salt so each bite pops just enough.

It is a crisp with some personality nonetheless. You don’t absent mindedly mow through a bag — you engage with it. If thin, delicate chips are the jazz flutes of the snacking world, these are the trombones.

A solid entry for crisp purists who want their potato to feel like it means business.
