The classic that never quite thrills.

Let’s be honest—Walkers Ready Salted are the beige wallpaper of the crisp world. Iconic? Sure. But exciting? Not a chance. From the moment you open the bag, there’s no drama, no aromatic punch, just a faint whiff of something… familiar but forgettable.

Texture and crunch

Walkers Crisps are notoriously thin, and here that works against them. There’s no real snap, no satisfying crunch—just a soft crackle that disappears before they succumb and fold in to a pile of shards on your tongue.

Let’s talk flavour

Salted, yes, but barely. It’s a faint dusting rather than a satisfying hit. But because of the abovementioned tendency to fall apart in the mouth, that does at least help them reach a few more tastebude.

But there’s no richness, no earthy potato note to elevate it. Just salt. And crisp. And a bit of nothing in between. “Classic” might be the polite way to put it, but honestly, they taste like holding back.

Verdict

These are the crisp equivalent of small talk. Inoffensive, fine to give you a salt hit when down the pub.

Lacking the depth, drama, or character you’d expect from a brand with this kind of legacy.

Nostalgic? Perhaps. But worth revisiting? Only if it’s the last bag left.
