Dinamita changes everything.
The format first: these aren’t triangles. They’re rolled tortilla tubes, like tiny taquitos, with a shape that concentrates flavouring on the outside and creates a hollow crunch when you bite. It’s a completely different eating experience from standard Doritos.
The Extra Flamin’ Hot seasoning coats these tubes generously, and because of the shape, more surface area means more heat per bite. These are noticeably hotter than flat Extra Flamin’ Hot, possibly due to better flavouring adhesion.
The crunch is extraordinary. That rolled structure creates multiple breaking points, a shattering rather than a snapping, with textural complexity that flat chips can’t match.
The revelation
Dinamita makes regular Doritos feel boring. Once you’ve experienced this format, the standard triangle seems pedestrian. The heat is better distributed. The texture is more interesting. The whole thing is more fun.
Why aren’t all Doritos like this? Cost, probably. Manufacturing complexity. But having tasted what’s possible, returning to triangles feels like a downgrade.
A format innovation that actually improves the product.
