Now we’re talking. Or at least, we’re talking more than we were with the ready salted.
Snackrite’s Cheese & Onion actually puts in a shift. The flavour hits with a sharpness that catches you slightly off guard for a budget crisp. There’s a definite onion twang upfront, followed by that familiar artificial cheese flavour that we’ve all been conditioned to accept as “cheese” despite it bearing no resemblance to any actual dairy product.
The colour situation
These are orange. Proper orange. The kind of aggressive sunset hue that stains your fingers and makes you look like you’ve been manually pollinating pumpkins. Some people hate this. I respect it. If you’re going to be artificial, commit to it.
The texture remains the Snackrite standard: acceptable without being exciting. But the flavouring powder has been applied with genuine enthusiasm. Someone at the factory actually cares about these, and it shows.
Where they fall wown
The aftertaste lingers a bit too long, leaving a slightly claggy sensation on the roof of your mouth. And the bag always seems to contain a higher proportion of tiny broken fragments than the branded competition. Quality control is clearly not the priority here.
But for the price? These are genuinely decent. I’d pick them over plenty of more expensive options.
