Chipsticks are thin potato sticks that have somehow persisted for decades despite being nobody’s favourite anything.

The format is strange. Too thin to provide satisfying crunch. Too straight to have interesting texture. Too bland to have memorable flavour. They exist in a no-man’s-land of snacking, present without purpose.

The salt and vinegar version is the most common. Vinegar on thin potato sticks creates brief sourness before immediate dissolution. It’s salt and vinegar that disappears faster than you can taste it.

Children eat these. Multipacks include them. They persist through inertia rather than quality.

Not bad enough to actively dislike. Not good enough to ever choose.
