BBQ rib implies specific things. Meat falling off bones. Sticky sauce on fingers. The particular indulgence of American barbecue culture. Translating this to a crisp means capturing sauce flavour without the meat experience.
Walkers captures the sauce reasonably well. Sweet, smoky, with enough depth to suggest actual barbecue rather than generic sweetness. The “rib” element is more conceptual than flavourful, meat-adjacent without tasting specifically of ribs.
The thin crisp format is, as always, a limitation. BBQ rib flavouring wants something more substantial to cling to. But the seasoning quality partially compensates.
A decent BBQ crisp that oversells slightly with the “rib” designation.
