BBQ sauce flavour is everywhere. Every brand has one. The differentiation is in execution, in balance, in whether anyone actually cared when developing the seasoning.
Walkers’ BBQ Sauce suggests someone cared. The sweetness is present but not cloying. The smoke is genuine, not just flavour-adjacent. The tang provides necessary counterpoint. It’s a complete BBQ flavour profile rather than just “sweet and vaguely smoky.”
The thin crisp format is the usual limitation. BBQ sauce flavour deserves better texture than Walkers standard provides. But the seasoning is good enough to partially compensate.
Better than expected from the standard range. Still limited by the standard range’s fundamental problems.
