Sensations is Walkers in a cocktail dress. Same company, different positioning, aimed at adults who want to feel sophisticated about their crisp choices. Thai Sweet Chilli is the flagship of this aspiration.
The crisps are wavy and substantial, a completely different product from standard Walkers. There’s actual texture here, crunch that satisfies, structure that holds seasoning properly. Sensations proves Walkers can make good crisps when the price point justifies it.
The Thai Sweet Chilli flavour is well-executed. Sweet, warm, with enough lemongrass and lime to justify the Thai billing. It’s not authentic Thai food, but it’s a convincing crisp interpretation, sophisticated enough for the target occasion.
The occasion question
These are sharing crisps. Poured into bowls at gatherings, served with wine instead of beer, positioned as appropriate for adult socialising. The flavour and format serve this context well.
Eaten alone, on your sofa, watching television, they’re slightly over-engineered. But that’s not really what they’re for.
